My experience with Benson Hodgson predates his founding of IBeam, to 1997 when I started my consulting company. Although Benson is expert in computer technology, which he helped me set up, Benson also assisted me in formulating my business model to package and deliver the intellectual property we would be offering clients. Although we are a small shop, we find the comfort of having the “mother ship” of IBeam watching over us a great relief. IBeam not only fixes problems when they occur (which is rarely), but also helps us avoid problems by anticipating our needs, be it hardware, software, or incident-related, such as the recent Hurricane Sandy, where IBeam advised us on a safe shut down before the storm hit. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for our technology services.

My choice to work with IBeam was the best accident that ever happened. It was the Christmas season and as a small business, that means “make or break” time for us. The program we had been using to track our sales/inventory/customers/taxes crashed and could have spelled disaster for us. As I struggled with a calculator to ring up sales, I asked folks if they knew of any computer people. Benson Hodgson's son was in line and he suggested we call IBeam. IBeam saved my business from failing at a crucial time. They worked with us, not only to get us back up and running, but to help us with our purchasing and networking of all of our needs. Benson brilliantly bridges between the tech world and the real world that a business owner has to deal with on a daily basis. He is patient with my impatience (and intolerance) with technology details; appropriate with the level of tech talk he gets into with me; and great at following up and making sure projects are completed. He also has a great sense of humor that means he is easy to be around while he is installing, upgrading, or otherwise "disturbing" my office technology systems.
